Baby Leveling Lite (“the app”) helps you log your baby’s feeds, sleep, diapers and growth. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it is kept and what choices you have. In short: your baby’s logs stay on your devices, there is no account, and the only third party involved in normal use is Google’s ad service, which you can remove with a one-time purchase.
Summary
- No account. You don’t sign up, and we don’t ask for your name, email or phone number.
- On-device storage. Everything you log is stored on your iPhone and, if you use it, your Apple Watch.
- No selling. We don’t sell your information or use your baby’s logs for advertising.
- Ads. Unless you buy Remove ads, the app shows banners from Google AdMob, which collects some device data under its own policy and your consent choices.
Information you enter
When you use the app you may enter:
- your baby’s name and birthday (both optional);
- feeds (breast side and duration, or bottle amount), sleep start and end times, pee and poo diapers, and weight and height measurements;
- your preferences, such as units, appearance and language.
This information is stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage and in a shared container that lets the app’s widgets read and update it. We don’t operate a server that receives it, and we cannot see it.
If you use the Apple Watch app, your iPhone sends the last 48 hours of logs to the watch, and actions you take on the watch are sent back to the iPhone, directly between your own devices using Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework.
Like other app data, this information may be included in your iCloud or computer backups of your iPhone, according to your backup settings. Those backups are handled by Apple or by your computer, not by us.
Pediatrician report
The Insights tab can create a PDF of the last 30 days. It is generated on your iPhone and saved temporarily. It leaves your device only if you choose to share it, for example by AirDrop, Mail or Messages, and the app or person you share it with handles it from then on.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Unless you have bought Remove ads, the app shows a small banner after every 10 entries on the Today and History screens. Banners are provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC (or Google Ireland Limited in the EEA, UK and Switzerland).
Before any ad is requested, the app asks for your consent where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), using Google’s User Messaging Platform. You can review or change that choice at any time in Settings › Ad privacy options, where available.
To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect information such as your IP address, device and operating system type, an advertising-related identifier, coarse location derived from the IP address, and how you interact with ads. Depending on your consent and region, ads may be personalised or not. The app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, so it does not access your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) for tracking.
Google never receives your baby’s name, birthday or logs. Google’s use of data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
After you buy Remove ads, the app stops requesting and showing ads.
Purchases
The Remove ads purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We don’t receive your payment details. The app receives only a confirmation from Apple that the purchase is owned, so that it can hide ads and let you restore the purchase on your other devices.
Usage analytics
The app records simple usage events, such as which screen was opened or that a feed timer was started, to help us understand which features are used. These events never include your baby’s name, birthday or the content of your logs. In the current version they stay on your device and are not sent to us or any third party.
You can turn this off at any time with Settings › Share Usage Analytics. If we start sending usage analytics to a service provider, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy details first.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, reminders are scheduled locally on your device. You can turn notifications off at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Children’s privacy
The app is meant to be used by parents and caregivers, not by children. The information about your baby is entered by you and stays on your device. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your logs stay on your device until you delete them. You can edit or delete any entry in the app. Deleting the app from your iPhone removes its data from that device, and deleting the Apple Watch app removes the copy on the watch. Data in your backups is kept according to your backup settings.
Because we don’t hold a copy of your logs, we can’t recover them if they are lost, and we can’t access them to answer a request about them. For data collected by Google for ads, see Google’s privacy controls.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, or under California law), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal information, and to object to or restrict its processing. Most of your information never reaches us, so you can exercise these rights directly in the app. For anything else, contact us at contact@babyleveling.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where the GDPR applies, the legal bases are: performing our agreement with you (providing the app’s features), your consent (personalised ads and consent-based ad processing), and our legitimate interests (showing non-personalised ads to keep the app free, and preventing fraud).
Security
Your logs are protected by your device’s own security, including its passcode and data protection. Communication between your iPhone and Apple Watch is handled by Apple’s frameworks. No method of storage is perfectly secure, so please keep your device protected with a passcode.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. If the change is significant, we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
